Miss Amazing Visits Reynolds
April 24, 2018
Reynolds Excavating, Demolition & Utilities and Staker Parson Materials and Construction had a special visitor this week. We agreed to meet with “Abby Manery Miss Amazing” and listen to her story and some of the challenges that she has faced. Miss Amazing is a Beauty Pageant for girls with disabilities. Abby won Miss Amazing for Idaho and then went on and won the national pageant in Chicago last August. She is in town this weekend visiting with companies to raise money for the Miss Amazing Pageant.
“As I’ve seen Abby’s progression, I think it’s, quite frankly amazing. To look at her and see what she’s become through the process of participation in this program. It’s awesome that she was able to come spend some time with us and come share with us her journey. Everybody has something important to contribute in life. It doesn’t mean you have to be pretty, smart or anything specific. You just have to believe in yourself. You have to be willing to do what you believe in. If you do that then you can accomplish amazing things, which I think is the essence of the title of this pageant.
You can’t do anything better in your community than to participate in something like this. Something that helps young people develop, especially people who have challenges and disabilities. There are so many things that we can do to help them. Giving money is the least of which in my opinion, but also by being friends, helping them, training them, coaching them. Helping them believe in themselves is something that is invaluable. It’s something we can pass on to the next generation, that will lead us and run our country, hopefully for the better. ” – Tim Brown Reynolds Excavation, Demolition & Utilities General Manager.
